Think about how you usually transport your dog in the car
Usually an animal, if it is large, is placed into the rear row or in the trunk, if it is a car with a hatchback or station wagon. And you wondered what could happen if, God forbid, you get into an accident. In the event of an accident, the animal can not only suffer itself, but also cause significant injuries to the driver or passengers. It moves freely around the cabin, unlike the driver and passengers who are fastened, and nobody has yet repealed the laws of physics, which means that in a collision it will fly by inertia in the direction of impact, and that will not lead to anything good.
Or, flying from the trunk all the way to the windshield and knocking it out, the dog’s body will end up on the roadway. Or, even worse, during its forced flight, the animal will fly into the driver or passenger. Let’s count. For instance, the weight of your Labrador is 35 kilograms, and you will fall into a frontal accident at a speed of 40 km / h. The weight of the dog at this moment, given the overload, will increase to 1400 kg. Do you think your neck will withstand such a slap in the head? And the animal itself is unlikely to survive. We are sure that if you share these calculations with your dog, he or she will surely make a puddle from hearing such a scary story of what is possible to happen on the road.
The top of recklessness is to keep the pet on your lap while driving. This is often practiced by ladies not wanting to part with their pet for a minute, stroking the little dog with one hand and turning the steering wheel with the other. And those toy terriers and shih tzu are lying between the steering wheel and the driver, and are waiting for their inevitable fate. Indeed, in the event of an accident, they will either be thrown back to the pedal block, and there it will be squeezed between the owner’s legs, pedals and distorted plastic, or slam the airbag deployed in the steering wheel.
Many mistresses don’t think about the fact that dogs traveling like this sometimes become the cause of the accident themselves. It barks at the wrong time, jerks the wrong way, or grabs the owner’s hand… As a result – a jerk of a driver leads to involuntary pressing on a gas or brake, and now thick steam is coming out from under the hood. It’d be not the worst situation if there was only a lamppost on the way. Never rely on the fact that your pet is always very calm and predictable. People cannot always control themselves, so how can we be so sure about the animal…
Meanwhile, to avoid all these consequences is quite simple, it is enough to equip the dog with a safe place in the car (for example, you can install the best dog barriers for cars). If the dog is not large and you want it to be near you, then you can safely put it in the front seat after having disconnected the airbag, and fasten it with a belt. Of course, you can’t fix it with a standard belt, but if you buy an adapter with a harness, then it is quite simple.
The harness for transporting the dog in the car is put on the animal, and then the dog is fastened with the included belt using the standard seat belt lock.
Such an adaptation is not expensive at all, and it is all for the safety of the entire “crew”.
